Cover Letter Samples Work at Home: $40,000 jobs | $60,000 jobs | $80,000 jobs

Here are a few cover letter samples to get you started. The work at home cover letter is the first page your potential employer will see. The purpose of your cover letter is to grab the recruiters attention, to show off your attention to detail, show your interest in the job position and their company, and to provide detail as to what you are asking of them. It is best to keep the cover letter short and easy to read, because the typical recruiter has time for maybe two to three short paragraphs, and they will skim quickly and look for key words.

Your cover letter should have the following elements:

  • The purpose of sending the resume (exactly what position are you looking for)
  • How did you learn of the position (word of mouth, advertisement, etc)
  • Specific targeting of the employer (show that you have researched their company)
  • Specific targeting of the position (what do you have to offer them)
  • Your education that will specifically help in that position (if it applies)
  • Information regarding your home office and the environment in which you work. If it pertains, information regarding any equipment that you have and software that will save them from purchasing for you (or you needing to purchase when you get the job).
  • How they may contact you and/or how you will make your next contact (calling and showing persistence is key, tell them you intend to call or stop by, and follow through with this promise)
