Kids Science ExperimentsBoil IceMake sure there is an adult present for this experiment. Stoves are dangerous and hot. Have you ever tried to boil ice? Our Science Experiment We are going to boil ice to see what happens. What you need 4 ice cubes How to perform this experiment Fill a pot with water and have an adult place it on the stove and turn the heat to high. When the water is rapidly boiling, drop in all the ice cubes at the same time. Watch! The water stops boiling immediately. Why did it do that? There is something called the Second Law of Thermodynamics. This says that the heat from the burner will always go to the coldest thing in the pot, in this case, the ice cubes. The heat concentrates on the ice and then the water will begin to boil again. I wonder what would happen if I wonder what would happen if I used a popsicle instead of ice cubes?
