The Woman's Garden editor, Laurianna, applied to become a Guide at About.com. The application is lengthy. The application asked that previous experience be listed, however, a copy of a resume was not permitted, therefore, a total resume re-write was in order. Also, you will be asked to write an original article regarding your topic of interest. For Laurianna, the topic was consulting. She took two - three days writing the article and also went to the library to study and purchased a book on consulting. The result: Finding Your First Customer. It takes two weeks for the application to be reviewed according to About.com, we do not know the outcome as of yet.
